The City of Melissa is developing a Parks Master Plan to shape the future of parks, trails, recreational facilities, and programs throughout the community. This plan isn’t just about parks; it’s about fostering community connections, and creating exceptional outdoor spaces for everyone to enjoy.

Your voice matters. This website is your go-to place to learn about the planning process, follow project updates, and share your ideas. Whether you're a daily park user, a weekend hiker, a parent, a coach, or just someone who loves Melissa's great outdoors, we want to hear from you. Help shape a vision that reflects the spirit of Melissa — bold, vibrant, and ready for the future — and builds common ground where our community can come together.

What Is a Parks Master Plan?

The Parks Master Plan is a long-term roadmap that will guide how Melissa develops, maintains, and enhances its parks, recreational facilities, and open spaces over the next 10 to 20 years.

This comprehensive plan examines the current state of Melissa’s parks by looking at access, amenities, programs, and overall conditions. It also combines community input, demographic trends, and environmental analysis to identify future priorities and opportunities.

With this plan in place, the City can strategically prioritize investments, pursue funding, and ensure that the parks system continues to promote health, well-being, and quality of life for all residents. The vision is a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable network of outdoor spaces that serves the needs of a growing community.
